Early-access service

Sonatina is a new service and is offered in early access. We work hard to keep it running well, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. In particular:

• It may have bugs, change, or be unavailable for a while, including during updates or when our hosting has problems. We cannot promise a level of uptime.
• You should keep your own copy of anything important. You can download your families, students, lessons and invoices as spreadsheets at any time from Download your data inside the app.
• If Sonatina is ever shut down or stops being offered, we will tell you as early as we reasonably can, keep your download available while we can, and refund the unused part of any fees you have prepaid.
• We will not charge you for anything without telling you first and getting your agreement. You add your own card, and you see the price before you confirm.
• We are not responsible for lessons missed, money not collected, or other losses caused by the service being unavailable or wrong. Please double-check anything important, such as invoices, before you rely on it.

Plans and payment

• Free trial. A new school starts with a free trial. Nothing is charged during it, and nothing is charged afterwards unless you add a card.
• Paying. A plan is charged to your card, in Canadian dollars, once a month or once a year as you choose, at the start of each period. Cards are handled by Stripe on its own secure pages: Sonatina never sees your card number. You can change plan at any time and the difference is added to or taken off your next bill.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page. Your school stays open until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then pauses. Fees already paid for a period are not refunded when you cancel, except as described under early access above.
• If a payment fails. We email you, and Stripe tries the card again over the next few days. If it still fails, your school is paused. Your information stays safe, you can still download it, and everything opens again when the payment goes through.
• If you do not add a card. Your school pauses a week after the free trial ends. Your information stays safe and you can download it, and it opens again as soon as you subscribe. Families and teachers are not locked out of their own pages while this happens.
• Price changes. If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before it applies to you.

Your data

Your school's information, including students, families and lessons, belongs to you. We use it only to run Sonatina for you. Parents' and students' details are entered by you, so please only enter information you are allowed to share, and tell families how you use their information. Our privacy policy explains more.

Using Sonatina

Keep your sign-in private. Do not misuse the service, try to break into other schools' information, or send spam through it. We may pause an account that puts other people or the service at risk, and we will tell you why.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Sonatina grows. When a change matters, we will tell account holders before it applies to them. You can reach us through the contact page.
